Monday saw us head to the track with representatives in the Dogs Festival and the Monmore Puppy Derby Semi Finals.
Rock It Vera and Klockwork Kaipo both lined up for the biggest puppy competition of the calendar but were unfortunately luckless on the day. Vera soon found herself crowded against the rails on the run up and was always on the back foot, despite this she ran on gallantly to be placed a respectable 4th in with some hot pups. Kaipo, despite not trapping fantastically, still managed to make the bend in front in his heat and just as it looked he would come round the 2nd he allowed the 1 dog to get up the inside. Despite staying in contention til the 3rd bend he, again, allowed challengers up the rail and soon found himself treading water on the run in slightly.
Bold Three flew the flag high for the kennels with domination of his Festival Dogs heat. Leading the run up he scored a trap to line success in a fast 28.20.
On the graded front, Thursday was a successful night for us and especially for owner Ray Patterson. His two debutants, Skywalker Snowey and Skywalker Chloe both made winning starts to their careers in the UK for us when winning an A3 and an A2. Sandwiched in between was a win for Klockwork Korker, making a return to winning ways after a couple of bumpy rides in open races.
