Spring Festival Qualifiers

Cremartin Lark showed why he is considered the 6 bend champion at Monmore with a brilliant display of all round pace to take victory in the second 630m Festival Semi Final today at Monmore.

Keeping a middle to wide course, he ensured himself a safe passage round the opening turn before starting to stalk the early leader down the far side. On the tail entering the 5th bend he chose the perfect moment to move out and around the 4 bitch and powered home for a two and quarter length victory in a very good 38.04.

In the Festival 480m Dogs, Bog Brae went down by a neck in second spot but progresses to next week’s Final. He had also ran a good race, showing determination at the opening turn to squeeze up the inside and lead out the second turn. Moving smoothly up the back straight he was being pressed all the time by the 5 dog, still in front coming off the last it looked like he may just hold on but just got outstayed on the run in.
