It is with great sadness that we have to announce the retirement of Go Go Sonic.
Bred here in 2009 by Esther, Sonic has been an absolute joy for us to train and for Gary and Daryl Holland own. He truly was one of the fastest dogs we have had the pleasure of training and but for a long standing injury picked up in a race at Swindon, he would have been competing at the very highest level for even longer.

Sonic was a prolific winner of A1s before making the step up to open class where he soon adjusted and left an immediate impression. He made the Semi Finals of the Wimbledon Puppy Derby in August where he found all the trouble in the race. However, undoubtedly Sonic’s finest victory was when winning the extremely tough Category 1 2011 Nottingham Produce Stakes beating a high quality which included fellow Category 1 winners Mark My Words, Romeo Metro and Jazz Apollo.

Later in 2011 he made the Semi Finals of the Nottingham Eclipse narrowly missing out on qualification for the final by a length. He then went on to record heat and final success of the Category 3 Brian Clarkson British Bred Trophy at Hove. Early 2012 saw him selected for the prestigious Racing Post Juvenile and although a large price outsider he gave one of his best performances when chasing home the superb Eden Star, going down by four lengths but making up eye catching ground in running.

The remainder of 2012 was stop start with the niggling injury and limited running but he still managed to make the final of the British Stud Book Trophy in June before also making the final of the Ladbrokes Summer Festival Dogs 480 Competition in the same month. He was also semi finalist of the Monmore Gold Cup in August.

A break over the winter saw Sonic stand at Stud whilst recuperating and he fathered his first litter earlier this year!

Returning to racing in March this year Sonic always gave his all and was always pushing them close when finding a trouble free run. He again made a final of a mini competition aswell as the Monmore Gold Cup semi finals at Monmore and was still recording some fantastic times which is testament to the raw pace and determination he possessed.
